Beautiful Circle
Sara Storer
©2002 ABC Country/Universal.

Review by Jo van Leerdam

Sara Storer is a relative newcomer to the Australian country scene. If this album is anything to go by, she will be around for a long time to come.

Beautiful Circle is characterized by an acoustic bluegrass quality which combines beautifully with Sara Storer’s clear and distinct vocals. She delivers these songs with honesty and sensitivity, and with frequent touches of humour.

Storer’s imagery and expression are so skilful that you almost feel like you’ve been transported into the picture she is painting. From a celebration of the arrival of rain to wistful memories of people and places far away or long gone, a strong narrative element in the songwriting tells stories and paints vivid pictures of people and situations to which most Australians will relate very easily.

I believe this CD could be enjoyed by many people who wouldn’t listen to any other country music. It’s not a Christian album but I recommend it to you as a very enjoyable CD that’s well worth having.
