Review by Jo van Leerdam
Sarah Sadler is a very mature 19 years old who inherited her vast musical talent from a long line of Sadler’s. Her father is well known for writing the songs, Ancient of Days and Lord Over All. At the age of 9 Sarah due to her father’s nurturing influence wrote her first song, ‘ I Will Pray’ which landed itself on an Integrity Music Children’s Record. Today Sarah writes about Christian love and acceptance, both in human relationships and in one’s own relationship with God. Sarah has a passion for pursuing life head on with grace and honesty. Sarah fears that life has become fickle and untrustworthy but never the less declares God’s goodness will restore confidence. Her aim for her musical career is to create an evocative, hopeful music collection that reshapes today’s youthful cynicism. Sarah’s main inspirations have been Amy Grant and Sheryl Crow. Although she has her very own unique sound, you can hear a hint of Sheryl Crow’s influence. In this untitled album, Sarah sings a lot about the unconditional love that is graciously poured out on us from God. She explains this love in a very down to earth manner. She sings about someone who loves us totally, even our weaknesses, our bad moods and those irritating habits we all have. This is a pretty impossible thing for us sinners to do. Sarah describes how beautiful we all become through God’s love no matter how dirty or disgusting we may feel within ourselves. I definitely recommend this album to anyone. It’s very versatile and unlike most music does not carry with it an age indicator. It will suit all ages and all tastes! “ In our society today, there is this
‘you-owe-me-something’ mentality, and I don’t agree with that. Nobody
owes us anything. There are a lot of takers and not a lot of givers. I
want to give more than I can take. “
