Faith of a Child
OC Supertones
©2005 BEC Recordings/EMI

Review by Jo van Leerdam

The OC Supertones have departed from their normal exuberant style on this album. There are some reflective songs such as ‘Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing’, ‘Remember’ and ‘How Deep the Father’s Love’ (even though the latter is still a little faster than I think it should be sung). Their rendition of ‘Here I Am To Worship’ is really nice – passionate and yet tender and worshipful at the same time. There’s a new version of ‘Hold Onto Jesus’ (from their last album) which is more consistent with the Supertones’ regular style. From that point the album seems to depart into something of a celebration of reggae. Five of the last six tracks fall into that style, so if you like reggae, this album is definitely for you.

The OC Supertones have maintained the standard of their previous albums. Faith of a Child is well balanced in its production, and is not too slick or plastic in its presentation. The music and vocals are performed with excellence.
