‘Missing Link’
Helen Betz

Review by Darryn Altclass

The first solo album from Helen Betz, Missing Link, presents a clear message obviously resulting from her own intimacy with God. The simplicity of the music and vocals adds to the reflective nature of the lyrics and encourages the listener to contemplate God’s grace and love. “You Won’t Let Me Fall” is a poignant reminder of God’s providential care, a message that continues in the words of the following song, “Sheltered”. The music style is quite unique ranging from the medieval feel of, “Missing Link”, to the soft melodious sounds of “Waiting”. The theme of the CD is encompassed in the following words from “Missing Link”,

“I have been searching for you everywhere I go,
You are the missing link to my soul.
You are a face in the crowd I did not know.
You are the missing link to my soul.”

Overall, Missing Link is an encouraging debut, well worth listening too. 10% of the proceeds of CD sales will support the work of ‘Help a Child Foundation’.
