No Paraklete Stood For a Hope That Is True

Adrian Buggs

No paraklete stood for a hope that is true
Like the hope that this paraklete has for you:
Proclaiming the righteous over the sin
Handed through lies to the next of kin.

Sin has entered, has riddled me deep,
Counselling desire even in sleep.
It extracts the evil which anchors my heart,
Covers the truth with deceitful art.

One limb dispelling, the other inviting.
One work starts loving, the other exciting.
One hand so tender, the other enforcing.
Eyes now in judgment, death they are coursing.

Sin has enveloped, no way of returning,
Accepting the ways from the world I am learning,
A glimmer of light strikes my eyes from above,
A trumpet is calling, it’s the paraklete of love!
